100G Single Lambda QSFP28 DR
100G Single Lambda QSFP28 DR incorporates one channel optical signal, on 1310nm center wavelength, operating at a 50Gbaud data rate. A DSP-based gearbox is used to convert 4x25Gbps NRZ signals to 1x50Gbaud PAM4 signals. The electrical interface is compliant with IEEE 802.3cd and QSFP28 MSA in the transmitting and receiving directions, and the optical interface is compliant with IEEE 802.3cd and 100G Lambda MSA with a Duplex LC connector. The module has a maximum power consumption of 3.5W.
100G Single Lambda QSFP28 DR is a type of optical transceiver module that uses a single wavelength of 1310nm to transmit 100G data over duplex single mode fiber (SMF) up to 500m. It is compliant with the IEEE 100GBASE-DR standard and can interoperate with any optic that follows the same specification. It can also connect to 400G switches and routers without sacrificing port bandwidth, and future-proof your network for new 100G form factors.
To use 100G Single Lambda QSFP28 DR, you need to have compatible switches or routers that support 100G ports and PAM4 modulation. You also need to use duplex LC connectors and OS2 SMF cables to connect the transceiver modules. The transceiver modules have a built-in Broadcom chip that converts the 4x25G NRZ electrical signals to a 1x100G PAM-4 optical signal.
In this video, we give you two ways to use it. 100G QSFP28 DR1 to 100G QSFP28 DR1, which uses OS2 SMF to connect two switches.
The other way is 400G QSFP-DD DR4 to 4x100G QSFP28 DR1, using four 100G QSFP28 DR1 modules to connect a 400G QSFP-DD DR4 module with two different switches.
100G Single Lambda QSFP28 FR
100G Single Lambda QSFP28 FR is another type of optical transceiver module that uses a single wavelength of 1310nm to transmit 100G data over duplex single mode fiber (SMF) up to 2km. It is compliant with the 100G Lambda MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) 100G-FR specification and can interoperate with any optic that follows the same standard. It also supports 4x100G breakout applications with 400G DR412.
Some of the benefits of 100G Single Lambda QSFP28 FR are:
- It can connect to 400G switches and routers without sacrificing port bandwidth.
- It can future-proof your network for new 100G form factors.
- It can adopt a PAM4-based optical standard that interoperates with 400G transceivers.
100G Single Lambda QSFP28 LR
100G QSFP28 Single Lambda LR is a type of optical transceiver that uses a single wavelength of 100Gbps to transmit data over long distances. It is based on the PAM4 modulation technique, which encodes four bits of information in each pulse. This allows for higher data rates and lower power consumption compared to traditional 100G optics that use four 25Gbps lanes.
100G QSFP28 Single Lambda LR has several advantages, such as:
It is compatible with the IEEE 802.3cu standard for 100GBASE-LR1 and 400GBASE-DR4.
It can support up to 10km of transmission over single-mode fiber (SMF).
It can be used for data center interconnects, metro networks, and campus networks.
It can be easily upgraded to 400G by using a breakout cable or a 400G switch.
